The first annual, and the first fishing derby ever in
Portage Borough was sponsored by T.A.P. and held on May 20, 1995, at Kane Run.
Approximately 180 kids fished at the free derby and prizes were awarded to different age
groups. Over 600 trout up to 18-20 inches were stocked. Weather was perfect
and the kids had a great time. Deputy WCO Nardechia's co-operation was very much
appreciated.
